How to cook Com Lam?
First, you must choose fresh and young bamboo, so that the new membrane inside the tube can wrap the rice, adding special flavour.
Add pre-soaked glutinous rice to 80% and then add clean/fresh spring water to about 10%.
Close with a banana leaf button, place it straight and grill on a wooden fire.
Rotate the rice tube to evenly heat, the tube will burn yellow with a fragrant smell until done.
Remove the thick bamboo skin, keep the thin cover inside to cover over the rice.
Tips: When eating, roll the rice tube between your both hands so that the rice does not stick to the shell.
Com Lam is very suitable when eaten with sesame salt, chili pepper, grilled pork with bamboo tubes, roasted chicken duck in LAK lake.
